Unknown oil leak
Hey all, after doing my annual oil change I have my first oil leak on this bike. At first I thought it was a faulty o-ring on the drain plug but the drain hose from the tank seems to be where the fault is. 2004 Softail STD EFI. It's accumulating at the end of the hose and running down and dripping off the left side of the frame. I wouldn't have thought this hose would be a leak point and right after an oil change. Take a look at the pic and let me know if I'm right. Is this an easy fix for myself or should I have the shop do it? Thanks

May sound obvious......but clean the living daylights out of that spot, go for a short ride and check to see where exactly it coming from. If you don't see anything......go for another ride and re-check. Once you figure it out call your local indie and see what the job entails. They are usually very happy to sell you parts and give you some advice. If it's a simple job then do it.

Oil is sneaky stuff and can travel far from where it starts its journey! It always ends up at a low point on the engine/trans. Don't assume it comes from somewhere close by, until you have diagnosed, as K suggested. Frankly as it currently looks, it isn't anything to worry about, so you have time to look into this further.

mystery trans leak
took a while to find it turned out to be 3 o rings installed at the factory where the speedo cable enters the trans removed all the extra rings put in one problem solved.
