Default Need Advice on Fluids

Ok guys, after reading numerous posts and replies, I am really confused on which fluids to use. Currently have a 2005 Electra Glide (4500 Miles) It has SYN3 in all three holes (installed by the previous owner at 3000 miles). The engine is noisy [:@](more than I feel it should be, the transmision clunky and grindy [:@]when shifting, even my wife noticed it fromthe back of the bike and said "is that supposed to sound like that". I read on here that the SYN3 sucks and I agree but there is a lot of differnet ideals and opinions. Just trying to make the best decision on which fluids to use.

I am leaning toward this:

Crankcase & Primary - Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50
Transmision - Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90

Thanks in advance for the info.

syn 3 is fine but I would say your choice of tranny fluid is good I ran 75w90 mobil one in my 05 heritage tranny and really noticed a difference then my indie started carrying amsoil so I now run it,also I dont know if mobil carries the 10w40 for the primary that will also aid in noise reduction and shifting, and yes harleys are noisy you just have to learn what is normal and what aint..

Check that the clutch is properly adjusted and that primary level is correct.

Great choice. Most of the big names will do you fine but that's a good combo you mention.

The syn 3 isn't good for the trans either.

Drop the 20w for straight weight and see if the engine doesn't quiet down.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't beleive there is anything wrong with the tranny or clutch. I just think there are better fluids out there that will make things quieter, smoother and cooler. I am not impressed at all with the SYN3.

Excellent choices, IMO, although 20w50 in the primary may be more viscous than is needed. I'm using GTX 20w50 in mine to quell the clatter in the 6-speed tranny, but I think a 10- or 15w40 would serve as well--and don't discount the value of cheap fossil oils in the primary, as a high-tech old in that location isn't really necessary.

Engine-Mobil1 15w50
Primary-HD 20w50 dino(I've got a bunch ofit left over from my last bike)
Trans-Mobil1 75w140.
This combination works well here in Florida-YMMV.
