Default oil press. issues continued.

ok here i am again. replaced the switch, didnt fix it so i just pulled the oil pump. found a check valve stuck open, and cant get it to close. guess i found my oil pressure issue. too bad there isnt a 24 hour harley shop around here. also think i found valve guide seal parts in the pump, but not quite sure what the heck it is.

its been a couple of days, but i got the check valve in. went through the oil pump to see if anything else was worn out. rebuilt the pump and voila! seems to run a lot better now!

hey there pococj. i dont know what the heck that thing was. it was sittin in the bottom of the oil pump cover when i took it apart, which tells me it came directly from the oil tank, and with a oil filter installed, i dont think a 3/16 inch chunk of rubber could have made it through that far, but stranger things have happened! gotta remember ive only had the bike about a year, and i got it from a guy who had it sittin in his garage for 10+ years! the bike was almost a basket case when i got it, looked like someone stole the thing, took it for a joyride through the mud, then crashed it into a sawdust pile!!! but she's runnin fine now, and not burnin oil so i dont know if that was a valve guide seal or not. maybee something one of his kids just decided to put in the oiltank!!
