Default Oil viscosity

I am new to the Harley family. I have a 2001 sportster 883 with 6000 mile on it. What oil viscosity is required for this bike?

Welcome to the Forum from Kansas!

I would recommend getting a service manual. It will have everything you need to know about your bike.

Welcome to HDF from the UK! The answer to that will depend in part on summer or winter. The simple way is to get oil from your local dealer. For summer use the correct oil is probably a 20-50, however if you buy aftermarket, use a diesel oil which meets API CH-4, CI-4 or CJ-4 specs.
