They sure are better, have you notice that all new motorcycles are coming in with “paper filters” no more oil on foam types, don’t blame the manufactories put the blame on the EPA ! yeah, it’s the law now, nothing beats K&N, remember anyone running a S&S Super E or F carb with stock S&S filter cover must grind or hacksaw a little ear off the air cleaner back plate, no big deal, you can get the instructions off S&S web site or tell them if you order it from K&N they will put in the sheet with the filter !

If there is an Autozone store near you check with them. If they don't have it in stock they can usually get it in a couple of days. Also the socket size for the filter nut is 11/16".
