Got the bike back from the dealer and wanted to verify that the levels were OK. Checked the engine oil in garage (level ground) on the Jiffy Stand while cold, overnight cold. The level on the stick showed "full hot" instead of half way up the stick which is what the book shows it should be when cold. But when hot the dip stick shows just a bit over full not like off the scale. I also looked at the air filter and didn't see any oil in the breather tube which I heard would happen if overfull.

So my question is.....which scenario do I trust? The full mark when hot or the half way level when cold? Again right now it is at the full mark when cold so.....

You dont want it over the full mark when hot. They may have overfilled it. My Dyna will hold 3 quarts but only after a tear down. During an oil change you only add 2 1/2 quarts.
