looking to see if anyone knows if there is a vaccum line attatched to the oil tank of an 83 sportster? line coming out of the gearcase cover ( cam side) seems to provide a vaccum for the oil system to help suck it through. also want to know if anyone has different routing of there crankcase vent lines. my bike has two ports which can be used, one at the 6 o'clock and one at the nine o'clock position on the gearcase cover. thanks yall

 

IIRC, there are 3 lines to/from the tank; supply, return, and a vent line. '83 is after they did away with the vent dumping to the ground from the crankcase, so I'm at a loss. What does your service manual show?

 

THANKS POCO. i only have a clymers manual, and there is no pictures of oil line routing in there , especially on the oil tank. im pretty sure ive routed lines correctly but just wanted another set of eyes on the thing. thanks again!!!
