So over the weekend I was out riding on a side road next to Rt. 9 in Ranson. Saw a school bus up the road getting ready to turn left, right in front of me. This fool stops, looks, and goes... Luckily I was able to speed up and make it across in front of him in the on coming lane. How the heck can you not see a motorcycle with it's high beams on?

 

And this guys to be a safe driver transporting our young children.

 

I didn't know they had schools in West Virginia.

 

It happens every day. That's why you gotta ride like you're invisible. Intersections are the worst. I get to an intersection & slow down like they're gonna pull out in front of me. When it doesn't happen, I start breathing again & get back up to speed. I guess if this is what I have to do keep from being a statistic, I'll do it ---- whether any old schoolers on here (or anybody else) like it or not. People look both ways 2 or 3 times, and then pull out anyway. For some reason, alot of 'em just DO.

 

I agree Geezr, it's disgusting. I try and slow down at intersections but the danger in THAT is that the car waiting to turn might just go anyways when they see me slowing a bit.

I have to admit, I have been guilty of the same on rare occasion. I ride as often as the next guy and two weeks ago almost pulled out in front of a chopper going by. Had his headlight on and everything... Luckily I saw him last minute and slammed the brakes...he took it well, just revved his engine as he went by. I hate that I almost caused the same situation I yell at others about when I am on the bike. "I never even saw him" doesn't change a damn thing for the rider.
