Anyone doing the ride to the wall this year? Last year was the first one I've missed in a while. Couldn't get extra time off, but I'm thinking of leaving here ( Columbus Oh) on Sat morning, get there in time for Sat afternoon, then catch the parade on Sunday, and head back Sunday night or early monday morning.

if you haven't been to one yet, it is unreal. The parade itself can last 4-5 hours. 2 years ago a WWII vet, dressed in full Marine dress stood in the middle of the road, at attention in a salute, as bikes went past on both sides. I watched him hold the salute for over an hour. Then I guess a friend of his came out, and helped him to the side of the road where he took a seat. You see something like that, and..well words cannot describe.

Never made the Run For the Wall or Rolling Thunder but it is definitely on my to do list. Some of the local bike groups here host a reception and provide supper for the Run for the Wall guys on the Southern route every year. This year our reception will be on May 20th, the night they spend in Midland. I've helped out the past several years and am truly blessed each time. You can never show your appreciation to our Vets enough! Pat

I am going to catch it in Gallup, NM on May 19, and ride to Albuquerque,NM. It's not much, but the best I can do with the time constraints I am under.

Regards,

Bill

My wife and I made the trip back in '95. It was an awesome event. Teary eyed for awhile doing the parade. Met some nice folks. Would like to return some day.

Went to my first one this year,

I live about thirty miles out of DC.

I will never miss another one.

Great experience.

Over 500,000 bikes (wow)!!
