Dream Ride
I live fairly close by to this thing, and in fact ride some of the roads that are part of the ride daily, and the rest of them fairly frequently. I attended last year's event. I've never seen so many motorcycles in one place before - there were several thousand bikes (my conservative guess would be 5,000+) in the field that serves as the meeting and jump off point. We rode in, parked in the field among thousands of bikes, and then walked over to the club area for 'breakfast'. By the time we came back, a couple of thousand more bikes (I'm not exaggerating) had arrived and it was challenging finding my own bike.
The ride itself is not really any big deal other than the thrill of being part of a column of bikes that has no visible end in either direction. I'm not kidding when I say there were several thousand bikes there. I'm still on the fence about attending this year; the thing is so big it's practically impossible to find anyone you know in the huge crowd unless you prearrange to meet them, and my old lady is not big on these types of gatherings (although she wears the 'Dream Ride' tank top I bought her last year all the time).

@Moe55, Did I see you on the side of the road with the police? It was a Blue Dresser w/Bushtech Trailer.
This ride was great, though I am not sure how many bikes we had, but the TV Reporter said 10,000 in attendance. I don't think that was all bikes though.
Food was great! Even if we were only (ONLY!) 3,000, they managed not to run out of anything and had Barbecue Chicken, Roast Beef, Watermelon, Corn on the Cob, Potato's and Salad ready to go as we all headed in and they never ran out.
A Very Well organized event that had to deal with bikers, car show enthusiasts and the public all at the same time.
The police escort was some of the best I have been involved in. They kept everything moving quickly even though some guys still don't understand Staggered Formation and moving over to allow the bike cops room to tuck in the line if they need to, to avoid getting hit by an on-coming car.
Thumbs Up to Farmington, CT for rolling out the read carpet and treating us to a great street side reception as we all rolled through town.
All toll, I rode 230 miles yesterday. Hit rain my first ten minutes of rinding and my last ten minutes.
