Default Looking for a good way to get to Cape May NJ

Heading from upstate NY to Cape May to grab the ferry to Delaware. I'm thinking of going Rte. 94 to 206. Could anybody let me know if this is a good way to go? I could always go around Delaware Bay, but thought it would be more fun to take the boat. Thanks.

The Cape May / Lewes Ferry is a fantastic ride! It's very scenic (particularly Cape May before you board the boat) and a soothing way to cross from the highest tax paying state in the union to a state where there is NO sales tax. You'll arrive in the area of Rehoboth Beach (was just there last weekend) where you'll find miles and miles of outlet stores if that's your thing. Bring your sidecart, trailer or u-haul to bring all that stuff home!

If seafood tickles your fancy, you'll want to stop at "Crabby Dicks Restaurant" 18831 Coastal Hwy Rehoboth Beach DE. You won't regret that!

Let me know if this helps your decision!

The scenery is much better on the Delaware side but I can't remember the route # that goes along the water and Blood Beach. Rt 13, 11? ? ?

Rt 206 is a nice ride when its not rush hour, if you go this route stop by Pic-a-Lilly Tavern and get some wings or some of their famous soups. Nice place that is biker friendly.

Just got back from Rehoboth & Georgetown. Had to take the truck as I was going to a baseball tournment in Georgetown and was loaded down with bags of gear. From eastern L.I. I took the non scenic route. Jersey Tpke to DE. Memorial Bridge. Past the Dover Speedway. Two or three other car loads took the ferry down and no one enjoyed it. Too crowded, water was rough.

One thing you must bring - EZ Pass. It probably saved me at least 45 minutes each way.

Rehoboth was great. Nice bars & plenty of places to eat. As noted above, Crabby Dicks is a great place to eat.

You won't need a helmet in De.
