Update on the skyline drive:

How does May 2-4 work for everyone?

Leave PA on Friday...Ride the drive on Saturday...Home on Sunday

those near the skyline can meet at the Hampton Inn Saturday morning.

Original dates of May 16-18 will not work for me since I need to work that Friday. But please, if that date works for everyone else...do it.

Thoughts...and who wants to do this to kick off the 2008 riding season.

Won't be able to make it. We will be in Hershey, PA for the Bikers for MDA rally.

 

Im cant wait, are we brining the women? Or are we going have fun?

 

Can't make it here. That's the weekend of the Va Bch 11th annual Bike Classic and already have reservations down there that weekend.

 

Would like to do the Skyline unfortunately I have to work that weekend. I have some time off in June hoping to do it then.

 

What is the skyline and where is it. I ask because i will be doing a trip to york pa in june and am looking for some riding to do while there and on the way back.

 

The Skyline drive is part of Virginia near Front Royal.

Skyline Drive runs the Shenandoah Mountain range from Front Royal, Virginia to Rockfish Gap, just east of Staunton, VA. It is about 105 miles long. Takes the better part of 3.5-4 hours to run the whole length. There are two or 3 points along the way where you can breakoff and come off the mountain if you don't want to make the whole run.

The cost is like $10 and theticket is good for a week. From York, it is about 2.5 hours to Front Royal.
