I addressed this to the Punisher, because he handled all this last year. I first posted this in the Members meeting Members and have not received any reply. I was inquiring about this years (2008) Gettysburg Bike Week. Are the members of HDF getting a block of hotel rooms like last year? I wasn't able to attend last year but was looking into going this year. If anyone has any info about the rooms and if HDF will be there I would appreciate a headsup. Thanks

 

Can't say for sure,but I think he has the same intentions for this year as well.

 

Try posting in the "regional events". O/T gets a lot more traffic, it might get lost before he gets a chance to read it.

I don't want to speak for Punisher, but I asked him about this the other day and he told me that it looked like his and Lynn's schedules were not going to work out for them to go this year, and he would not be organizing it.

After that I thought about trying to start working something myself. Anyone want to help try to get something together?

I know we have some folks around there that could do some legwork. I thought the Hilton Garden Inn was great and they treated us really good, but I think the cost scared a few people off. I was thinking about taking a ride up to Gettysburg in the next couple of weeks and doing some recon and maybe trying to find a place to give us a good group rate. If not, I'm sure the Hilton would have us back again. Any thoughts? I will probably try to catch up with Ron and pick his brain too.

We had a great time last year and I hate to see it not happen again. I think we could get an even bigger crowd this year.

 

We went last year, but this year have already committed to another Rally. Good luck on organizing the get together Maybe one of the mods will sticky it for you

 

I had originally planned on attending but I'll be back in Afghanistan again during that time frame ....

Did you see the reply from Framer in the thread in Members Meeting Members. He lives 20 miles south of Gettysburg and has a friend in the hotel biz in Gburg Said he would be glad to help.

Sorry guys but Punisher and I have a prior commitment that will be taking us out of town that weekend, so we won't be doing Gettysburg this year....Hope you guys can get something together
