Ok I think this has gone on long enoug and is starting to get nasty.

I can kind of understand where Old Bones is coming from. I have been to the Boston show the last two years and both times it was a clusterf**k at the end of the show. This year was even worse because at the last minute they decided to keep the doors open longer to make more money.

Now on to Ben's comments...
My problem was not with you or your bike. Granted it is not my cup of tea. But like I said I can appreciate how much work went into it. My problem is with Dick and the way he classes bikes. After reading your comments I can see that the show is even more screwed up then I thought. The fact that he told you that you will win one week and not the next against the same bikes is crap. If you can beat them one week then you should beat them every week. If they can't handle it (screw that business thing) then they need to invest more in their bikes. (and the crap comment is not directed against you).

Second, after reading this thread my wife is not happy with the way shows are running either. She has decided that next year we will put the bieks in the show just to hang with our friends. Screw trying to win anything. Just hang with bikers and have fun.

Oh and Old Bones...try decaf pal... You made me spit beer out my nose when I read your post.

I used to do this show thing back in the day and it wasn't half as political as it is now. Time to take a step back and crack open a beer and relax.

well BB unfortunatly they dont wanna listen like i said i have been complaining for years the way they run it and they dont seem to care and from what i hear the Manchester NH show is put on by lonestar leather and they used to do the shows in worcester mass and marlbrough and Dick was the judge for those too...All i can say is i do the shows to pass the winter and enjoy what i have done and could care less if one Judge points a finger and says that bike is better than that bike all for a plastic trophy... there should be at least 3 judges walking around talking to you about your bike and judging it on a points system but they dont want to have to put that much work into it they are more interested in getting vendors to come to the show cause they pay more for spots than bikes do they dont realize that people come to see the bikes more than vendors

 

They should work on getting more vendors.We should be complaining to kev/marv rather than each other to try and make these shows worth the money,for them to call it a bussiness is sad.

 

Ya, I was there too! I would have liked to have seen more bikes & less vendors. Sometimes I felt more like I was at a flea market than a bike show! All-in-all wasn't too bad though? Here's some pics...
