$440 NYC Exhaust Ticket
Has anyone gotten a ticket in NYC or know or heard someone getting a ticket for loud exhaust. I have the SE II but I haven't ridden in the city much this summer. $440 is a pretty hefty ticket.[:@]

I have that same article in todays local paper. It was probaly printed in thousands of papers across the country.Once people read it,it'll give them something else to bitch about! As long as you are not bringing attention to yourself, you shouldn't have any problems with LEO's.

Most likely you WILL NOT be stopped for a helmet or loud pipes unless your being an asshat.Once you give the cop a reason to suspect you may be worthy of the time to stop you,you can bet you will be stopped.
Its like cell phones and seat belts, they wont stop you for them unless they might be able to find something else going on.Just dont be a dick and you will be OK

Bikers, regardless of type of ride, have been hassled all summer at two places that I know of personally.
Friday nights at Coney Island, is one.
There have been roadblocks set up on the Belt Parkway east bound right past exit 9.
They're check for proper paperwork and D.O.T. helmets.
I haven't heard anyone complain about pipes though.
Improper papework gets you bike a ride on a flatbed to the pound.
Not DOT helmet gets ya a ticket.
