So if you guys had a 10 days off in July and could ride from CT to anywhere. Where would you choose? This is the unfortunate position my boyfriend and I am in. LOL> We did Tail of the Dragon two years ago and arent totally against that ride again, however we would like to see something different. Looking to you for some good ideas. Thanks in advance.

It gets a bit crowded in the summer, but Nova Scotia never disapoints

I'd go to Nova Scotia too. I been thinking about adding it to my trip to Laconia.

I did Quebec and the Gaspe Peninsula from Carmel, NY. Lots of little fishing villages and light traffic. Went up through the Adirondacks and came back down through New Brunswick and inland Maine. The French Canadians speak a kind of "dirty French", but most can speak English and everyone we met was very nice.
NS is also nice and the ferry trip from Mt Desert Island is 2 hours. Cape Bretton is pretty. PEI has a seafood festival, but not sure when. Book the ferry way in advance as it does tend to sell out.

Failed to mention that Skyline Drive / Blue Ridge Pky is paradise for 2 wheels.

"I did Quebec and the Gaspe Peninsula" That sounds like a great trip. What time of year did you go and how much time did you allow for it?

We rode the 1st week of June, then ended up in Laconia for Bike Week. I would not recommend this time of year. It was a little wet and cool, but we still had a great time. If I were to do it again, I would ride there in July. We were on the bike for I think almost two weeks including Laconia. Definitely include returning through the back roads in New Brunswick, Maine, NH and VT. Moose, trees, and Lobstah!

OK I think you might have sold me on this one. I'm going to start checking maps for routes, and the net for expected weather conditions, and places to see.

Thanks for the tip

Cruise through the northern states...VT, NH, could toss in ME.
To get the most out of them....go through the northern parts of those states.
