Wife and I just did a great 6 hour trip inland. Left Waterford...took Rt 85 up through Salem..and into Colchester. Headed east towards Lebanon, came around back into Colchester...stopped at Harrys hot dog 'n burger stand in downtown. Lot of other bikes there enjoying some grub. Hopped back on...headed north, returned back into downtown Colchester, headed West on Rt 16. Route 16 was a great ride....some nice scenic stops, we stopped at a state park on the Salmon River...pulled over and walked out into one of the fields there and laid back to catch some sun for a while. Hopped back on...headed west again..but immediately pulled over on the first right to look at a historic covered bridge. Continued on west into East Hampton....went around Pocotopaug lake area, headed up 66, pulled onto Rt 2 south and back into Colchester. Headed back to Waterford and stopped at Sunset Ribs for some cold ones on the water in the sun.

Meriden here. Anywhere to ride is great in my book. A few "special" spots though...mostly for the food. But with a wife and a toddler; anywhere, anytime I can ride is a good ride to me.

I'm in Newington and go many ways, over rt3 thru Glastonbury, down 93 to 85 to 66 east to 169 south to 184 thru Groton and take the shore rd 154 or continue over the river to rt1 thru Guilford then take rt 77 to 17 then back thru Middletown. also thru the NW part of the state. you can also go to RI from 169 by going down 138 which takes you to RT1 in RI, so many nice rides out there.

i ride everyday rain or shine till the ice shows up. Then it good roads only.
i like to ride to RI beach and have a cold one. Sound View in CT is great for the sights, if you know what I mean.
Sharon CT into NY up north shoot over to the Hudon for lunch then head back through the Berkshires, Southern New Hamshire has some real nice roads.

Very nice views over there.I would make the run from Carmel NY to Noank for an Abbotts lobster roll. Stop at the Red Dog in Meriden on the way back.

Hah...I worked at Abbotts for 2 summers in a row...back in my teenager years. Lived in Noank for about 6 years in my early 20's also..2x different places. Fun little town.

Familiar with the Red Dog too...(although it's so faded..they should call it the pink dog)

I live in eastern Dutchess county and ride allot in NW CT... Just some additional info, Stay away from Kent falls this time of year, they'll change u $10 per bike even if ur staying only a few minutes, and by mid-day its closed anyway due to crowding.... The Country store at Rte 7 &4 used to be good, but is changed hands a couple of times the last 2 years, new owners just re-opened it and I stopped to see if it was any better, the place is empty, and they didn't even have a roll to make a sandwich...
