Rt 20 around the Barkhamsted Resevior is my favorite ride in the state.
I live just south of there in Simsbury. Rt 10/202 to Rt 20 then typically take 44 home.

Last summer they were re-paving the remaining portion of 20 between the northern end of the reservoir and East Hartland. I never went back through there in the fall to see how it came out. That section of the road had been getting pretty rough. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer as it is supposed to snow again tonight and tomorrow.

not sure how far they got, but the area I rode at the end of last summer was all new out to a 'look out' on the western side of the reservior. it came out great, nice and smooth and i didnt get sandblasted by extra gravel.

Not sure what this winter has done to it though...

We cruise around most areas that have been mentioned. Kent, Sharon, Lime Rock, when we head back over this way Amenia, Millbrook, Pine Plains, Ancromdale, Millerton are all good country roads where you can really open it up. I do prefer riding in Ct, roads are in better condition and no helmets. We also cruise over to Candlewood lake and get some food and drink at Down the Hatch.

I hope everyone got a ride in today. I went up Rt 63 to Rt64 to Rt 6. Then I took Rt 67 to New Milford. Rt 67 is a really nice ride. In New Milford, I took RT 7 north to Kent and the falls. Rt 7 to Rt 45 to Rt 202. I took Rt 202 to Rt209 to Rt 109 and back to Rt 63. Only the second ride of the season.

I was out in that neck of the woods yesterday too. Took Rte 183 N to Rte 8 S to Rte 118 W to Rte 63 S to Rte 61 to Rte 109 W to Rte 209 N around Bantam Lake, which still had considerable ice on it. Had a slice at Bantam Pizza, and then headed up 202 E to Rte 63 N to Rte 4 E into Torrington and then Rte 202 back home.

I couldn't get out this weekend as I had the weekend shift. Off for three days now and it's going to rain. Just my luck.

I live on RT63 and see a lot of bikes go by when i'm not riding and always thought it would be nice to be able to let riders know that if they needed something , Water, air. a wrench or something while on the road that it would be available if they had someway of telling that I am bike friendly. How would we do something like this without raising a "flag" to motorists? It would be nice to start something like this.

Got kids? If it were me, I'd start with a "Free Lemonade for Bikers". Introduce yourself and word will spread.

i live in central ct, about 15 minutes south of hartford, in Berlin. this past sunday i did a 100mile ride; Rt17 to RT79 south, drops you right onto Rt 1 in the madison area, took a left and cruised rt 1, taking in that ocean air, through madison, clinton, westbrook, old saybrook. tons of bikes were out, alot of good places to stop, eat and relax for a bit (bills seafood, lenny and joes and johnny ads just to name a few). continued on rt 1 to 154 north, runs along the ct river, beautiful scenic route brings you right onto main st. in middletown. did 104miles round trip, all on my new Blackline i picked up a few weeks ago..
