Default Philly Children's Hospital toy run 11/7

I'm really surprised there wasn't a thread on this. Did this ride yesterday w/ a group of ~30 from central NJ. Mostly Elks and Red Knights, but also a bunch of locals. What a BEAUTIFUL day for a run! We meandered down the back roads from Manville to Scotch Rd in Pennington, where we got on 95. From there on, it was game on! This was the first time I've done this run, and when we got to Penn's Landing, I could not believe all the bikes. I've never seen that many bikes in one place at one time before. I heard people throwing around numbers like 10k plus. From what I saw, I would believe that. Riding from Penn's Landing, through the city, to Children's Hospital was great. Lots of people out waving and cheering. The scene at the hospital was very moving. After we dropped off our toys, we got to walk though the lobby of the hospital. There were a bunch of kids, parents, and staff all waving and banging on drums. It was a truly moving experience. The best part was, ALL of the kids had smiles on their faces. Seeing so many of my fellow riders come together to do something like this was very cool. It was really one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of. Anybody else go? While 20 degrees warmer would have been nice, it was a beautiful, crisp, clear day. Great day for a ride!

/edit Sorry, guess this should have been in the Northeast forum and not the Tri-state. I live in NJ, so this is naturally the forum I post in.

There were a bunch of us, around 15, that did the run...I agree it was totally moving to see everyone out for a great cause!

It was my first time doing this ride too, very cool after the bikes finally stopped entering the parking garage i asked on of the security guys what they the final count was and he said 2,520 but I think it was at least twice that number if not more. I had been to the 105 anny out in Milwaukee and there was an entire base ball field parking lot filled with Harleys but this run was impressive. Anyone know what the real final count was on Sunday?
