Headed to NJ this summer and know you guys have full service stations only. Do you guys pump your own gas without them giving you grief?

 

Most of the gas stations will allow you to pump your own gas since your on a bike. They don't want to be liable for paint or any damages. Only if your in a cage, they will not allow you to pump your own.

Wait for them to hand you the nozzle don't take it yourself sometimes they get cranky if you touch the pump

 

when ever i go to nj from tr 15 or 206 in my car or bike i always pump my own gas the best is when its cold or raining the bastards dont mind then

 

Like was said, in NJ they will let you do it yourself after they set the pumps. But there are a few who will let you set it up, but all will let you handle it because like was said about ruining paint, etc...

Yea, seen that too. But I actually was yelled out by an attendant because I grabbed it before he set it.

Trust me he learned his lesson after that. The owner was there at the station who I had a brief chat with and wanted to fire this kid on the spot. But I told him not too and decided to take my business elsewhere that day, along with 40 other bikes that were with me!

 

Some of them will even hand you a rag to wipe off the tank.
