Took a nice ride today.
So today my father and i decided we were going to go out to Turning Stone Casino for the NYS Chiefs show. Thought it would be a fun ride to take route 5 from albany all the way out. Now before this albany to lake george is the farthest ive been so it was quite a trip. All i can say is if i ever go on longer rides i am avoiding the super slab ever chance i get. We left at 8am and with a stop for breakfast and gas we were there by 11ish(made a wrong turn and went about 20 miles out of our way). Anyways just thought id share my first real long day. I will deff. be investing in a new seat as the stocker on the Nightster was not cutting at after the first hour and a half. Anybody have expierence with this route?

Well, I'm in Albany. Not a lot of experience traveling Rt 5 out that far. I pretty much stay local, LG, Saratoga, & trips out thru Vermont. Went to Rhinebeck last Saturday for the Antique Bike Festival, great time, great bikes & a decent ride especially coming back on Rt 9 thru Hudson.
A nice ride I like is going around Sacandaga Lake. Not too far or long, great scenery, & good places to stop for lunch. Plan on 3-4 hrs, been on that ride many times.
