Hey NJ Riders...PBA Poker Run
#13
OK guys, the run didn't happen last year but it's happening this year. So far I am lookin at May 9th with a rain date of May 16th. I chose to benefit St Jude's Children's Hospital. I have the Stone Pony on board and Windmill is doin the food. I have some room for some more ideas if you guys have any. The run is gonna end at the Stone Pony. I am working on having a car show there as well. I figure the more people I can get there the more money I can raise for the cause. I am gonna allow riders to purchase up to 2 extra cards for a dollar each to try to make a better hand. I am also going to have about 30 - 40 door prizes ranging from small gift certificates to who knows how much. I am There are gonna be plenty of opportunities to "donate" more money for more chances to win door prizes. I am also going to have a bike show with plaques for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Anyone have any more ideas please let me know...May is comin up fast. Also the run is gonna start at the Windmill in Long Branch, the north one and they will be providing complimentary coffee and tea while serving breakfast sandwiches.

I'd pick the brain of a group that already has held such an event. there are many details that you would want to consider. Liability insurance and waivers for one. Check the NJ State PBA site to see who is running one and you may get a contact name.
Another suggesstion is to check around and make sure that there isn't another major motocycle event in the area on that date.
Here's a hint. Hold it after all the snow in the state melts. I'm up here in NH and I found more in Hudson County this week then here.

Dennis, yeah I picked up a 2010 RG. It's the right bike for me. I will keep you updated on all the info. unfortunately my PBA doesnt have a website to post the resgistration flier but I will have plenty of fliers placed around plus everyone can register st the start site. So far it's lookin good, especially since I am a first time organizer. We have a car show, bike show, vendors and tons of door prizes. The only even I am in competition with is Myrtle Beach BW. But from what I hear, I don't have much competition LOL
