Passenger communications without Tour-Pak
#1
After removing the Tour-Pak from my 2014 Limited, my wife and I were missing the passenger communications.
I searched hi and low and could find nothing for the 2014's so I fabbed up a little box that restores the passenger headset plug and controls. It plugs right into the empty 16 pin connector under the seat that the tour-Pak uses.
It was four HD pieces; the dual switch, the passenger headset wiring harness/plug, the headset jack cover and a female 16pin connector. I put it all in a small Radio Shack plastic project box, following the wiring diagram for the passenger controls in the Service Manual.
I'm not sure if I'm going to mount it on the bike or just have the wife put it in her lap. Plug it in, turn on the bike and the Can Bus recognizes it and enables the rear controls as if the Tour-Pak was attached.
