Default 8" LA Chopper Twin Peaks Bar Install with Pictures.

If anyone is interested I just installed a set of 8" LA. Chopper Twin Peaks "Chimp" bars. I created an album under my profile called "Twin Peaks Bar Install" that details the process with captions to explain the pictures.

Here's the link: https://www.hdforums.com/g/album/1569526

I hope this helps anyone contemplating doing it themselves.

Great pics. I like the bars too, looks like your hands will still be protected by the fairing which is a plus in our part of the country.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I hope to do bars this winter. I'll definitely use this as a guide.

Here's a few pictures showing the height of the bars and my riding position. For reference, I'm 5'8" tall. I took the bike out today for test ride for the first time with the new bars. I only did about 100 miles but there was not a hint of that pain between the shoulder blades that I used to get with the stock bars. Being able to straighten my wrists makes for a much more comfortable ride. These bars are only about a half inch higher than the stock bars so the stock mirrors work great. The one downside, if you can call it that is that brake and clutch levers are pretty close to the mirrors. It hasn't been a problem and I haven't bumped the mirrors with my hands. Overall, I'm very happy with these bars. IMHO that the $180.00 for the bars including shipping and about four hours was time very well spent.

I bought the bars from Handlebarlouie, he's a vendor on this forum and a real nice guy. Shipping was extremely quick.

Sorry I look so serious in the picture, I was trying to hide my double chin! lol

Really nice job! Especially how to take the wire connectors apart. This would have saved me a lot of time and $$.

Very nice write up! I'm way to impatient to stop between each step and do what you did! I'm sure it will help many down the road and would have helped me had I not done my own (Yaffee Classics) 2 months ago. GOOD JOB!!

Great information. I just raised my stock bars from the factory nest position and almost get the height I need.
