Just my two cents, I have used Klocks Works windshields on three bikes and love them. I have a couple of different heights that I switch depending upon the temp and weather. I do feel the bike, a 2010 Ultra, rides better than with the stock shield. I also like the fact that they are a small family owned company from South Dakota. Harley copied their design a couple of years ago so they can't be all bad.

Default Question for VA_LARRY

VA_LARRY, a couple of questions for you. What size is your Madstad, the 9, 11, or 13 inch version (looks like maybe the 11) and which tint if any. Is the install just basically removing your old shield, installing the new dark "base" screen to the fairing, and then mounting the brackets and shield on the base?

Also, I would like to see another pick of the inside fairing area with a little wider view. I am kinda interested in all the stuff you seem to have mounted in there, what it is and the type mounts. Thanks.

Installed my Madstad today and took it for a couple of spins...adjustied to different heights, half helmet, then modular. Definitely good wind protection. Could set the windshield height so that the wind would blow over the top of my helmet. It'll take some time to get used to the solid/opaque base plate. It's like having a shorty shield that you can't see through. I had purchased a Freedom Touring shield prior to the Madstad, but I was still getting whacked on the top of my helmet. I am going to try a couple of different sizes up with the Freedom to see how they fare. I'll likely keep a Freedom Touring shield and the Madstad. The only "shortcoming" I can think of with the Madstad is the windflow on/over the sides of the faring...not terrible, but noticible, especially after using the Freedom Touring shield, which seemed to give good protection to the arms/shoulders. And yes, the Madstad is ugly!

Default 2018 w Madstad

Ran this on my 2018 for 2 years and about 40000 miles. Used it for my UCC in 18 and the IBR in 19.

I ordered mine 2 inches taller to mount things on. Would recommend only going +1 not +2 though. Only negative l can think of is some extra wind noise. I wear earplugs so it's a non issue for me but it could be annoying otherwise.

Other than that, it's awesome. Gives a much better wind pocket to ride in, especially in crosswinds.

Edit....wind noise is from the fairing area not from wind on or around the helmet
