WHIM =Sena 20s instead of HD20s
Anyone using the WHIM with the Sena 20s (not the HD version of the headset)?
How is the sound quality? Any loss of functionality?
I'm currently use the Freewire and I'm thinking about going to WHIM, but I don't really want to buy the new HD headsets. The wife and I use the Sena 20S headsets with another bike that requires a Freewire and I don't really want 4 headsets.

Yep.....only real difference between the two other than the internal antenna on the Evo models. I've had both the Sena 20s and Boom 20s Evo with the WHIM on my 2016 Ultra Limited and the only difference is the sound quality. There is no functional difference.

1. The SENA 20s, SENA 20s EVO, the H-D 20s, and the H-D 20s EVO are all stereo.
2. Only the H-D 20s EVO is also high quality audio, meaning it has the AptX audio codec installed.
3. If you connect any of the four bluetooth headsets listed in #1 above to the WHIM, only the H-D 20s EVO will connect in both stereo and high quality audio.
4. If you connect any other H-D headset to the WHIM, they will connect in stereo, but not high quality audio. They will connect with the bluetooth standard SBC (sub-band coding) audio, but not the AptX audio.
5. If you connect any SENA headset other than an H-D headset to the WHIM, the WHIM will shut off both stereo and high quality audio.
6. If you connect the Freewire to any bluetooth headset that supports stereo, the Freewire will connect in stereo.

Is the sound quality on the 20S bad? I don't have a great acoustic ear, I'm not sure I actually know the difference between a stereo and mono sound.

I purchased the WHIM, additional harness and the HD Dual Pak 20s from an online dealer. It should arrive today. The single 20S was labeled EVO on the site and on the HD website, but the Dual Pak is not. Has anyone purchased the HD Dual Pak 20S and does it give you stereo?
Thanks,
Scott

No problem! Btw, in some other threads on the WHIM and the H-D Boom Audio Bluetooth headsets, there are owners saying that they're getting much shorter battery time than expected. Riders that already owned a SENA headset are seeing shorter battery life once they pair to a WHIM.
