Speaker Lid?

I would rate these lids as basic entry level lids and I made the impulse purchase due to the price point. My current system is BT4180 amp, BT7.1 (not Pro's) in the front and Alpine SPR-60 in the tour-pak. Since I ride mostly solo these days without the tour-pak, I missed the 4 speaker setup. Given the $$$ already spent on my system, I went with Pioneer 6x9 Pro's recommended by many of the experts here on the forum for the price point ($129.95 from Amazon). I wanted plug-n-play connectivity, so Brian at V-TwinAudio hooked me up with VTUA14 ($89.95) rear speaker interface cable and VTSHS quick release speaker cable ($39.95). Installation was quick and no cutting on stock electrical required. Thank you to this forum for all the technical advice provided on various options to choose from when selecting the speakers.
Paint: Match is spot on for Superior Blue. I only noticed 3 very small specks in the paint on the side of the lids which you can not see (that is being very picky).
Quality: The fitment is 100% and the only minor issue I have is with the weather stripping. Note: You need to order weather stripping at time of purchase for $18. Also, one of the eight plastic 6x9 mounting posts (4 posts per lid for a total of eight) cracked on me when installing the speakers. It was the 7th of the 8 during the installation and it happened when the screw was 1/2 inserted. The speaker is rock solid even with one of the plastic posts cracked, so no issues after 2,500 miles and having them for little over two weeks.
Weather protection: None. See the gap (I placed an orange towel behind the grill to help show the space). I used ShoreFire Design lid covers to protect from the rain during the 2,500 miles trip last week which did the trick but I lost 70% of the sound as one would expect.
While on the trip, I lost my footing and my rubber soled boot hit the lid. It appears there is only one layer of paint as the black plastic is showing.
Here are a few more pictures of the lids on my bike:
The grill is very thin and you can see even the slightest of bends:
Advan Black was very responsive throughout the ordering process and once shipped, the lids actually made it here from China in a couple days. I am glad to have 4 speakers again and the price point made that happen. Would I buy them again, not sure. Given that I have been waiting for 6 months for lids and did not want to go another few months without them, these did the trick and I am happy with the price point. Will I probably replace them later on down the road, more than likely but not in the near future.
