Fairing Lowers on 2015 Road Glide special
#13
I don't have the part number at the moment. Its in the big book in the back with all the painted stuff. If you order a tour pak don't get the one I did "with pin stripe", thats for the Ultra. It has two pin stripes.
Couldn't hear the speakers with the new exhaust so I had to get the lower speakers.
Off to Daytona in the morning.

Great looking bike but the windshield is larger than the picture window in my house. I bet you could lite a cigarette at highway speeds with a match behind that thing. Do you ever feel like you are behind the wheel of a passenger bus?

So I looked in the book before I left for Daytona this morning. I think it was on page 350. The lowers are in the touring section of the book not the back of the book Sorry about that. Again the part number is easy to find there. They are 699 from HD
Thats my winter windshield, yep I ride year round lucky me. Here's my I'm going out of town windshield

Here are some pictures of my aftermarket lowers. Bought them on eBay a couple years ago. Put 38,000 miles with them on my 2012 Road Glide and they fit on the engine guards of the new 2015 Road Glide also. Still look new. They are gloss black like the Harley. The lowers fit both the Street Glide and the Road Glide, but because of the Road Glide fairing that bolts to the engine guard, you need to cut about 3-4 inches off the upper part, so it will not hit the fairing support. The instructions with the lowers describe what is needed. They attach at the top with two bolts and since I could not get the attachment at the bottom to fit, I used black zip ties. The ties worked for 38,000 miles, and I cut them off to put the lowers on the new bike.
I think they look enough like originals and cost about 1/3 the price. Some models come primed only, so you could paint to match. Since I have a black bike the gloss black worked great. I doubt if many could tell they are not originals.
The movable louvers are a bit thin and but will stay in place if tightened down. You can adjust them. The louvers are not quite as good as the companies but since I rarely move them they are fine.
The lowers block the wind, dirt, bugs and rain. I like them.
Photos show front, a closeup of the part that is cut off, the cover for the opening and the inside where the two bolts are.
Good luck with whatever choice you make.
