I made the trip from Alberta, Canada in 2011. We stayed in Rapid City at the Ramada. It was affordable and had a pool and bar inside, with a restaurant in the same parking lot. It is a motel set up so we drove the bikes right to the door. They also had a complimentary bike wash with fresh clean drying towels. It is also right on the hwy so easy access to all points of interest.
We are going again this year 12 of us. We are staying right in Sturgis at the super 8. We thought this would be better because in 2011 we missed out on some good parties in Sturgis because we couldn't get **** faced! So we made do went to Sturgis in the day and partied in Rapid City in the evenings which is nto even close to cool. Also many of the Rapid city cabs just hang out in Sturgis so getting a ride is next to impossible.

Nice ride ya got planned. I did mine first trip there 2011. Stayed in Custer, SD. Place called Chief Motel, pretty good rates. I did my trip there a couple days prior to the actual start of Sturgis. Most vendors and stuff are set up the week prior, rates are cheaper and a lot less crowded. If your in Custer, dont miss Custer State Park. Great ride and sites.
