OK here is our story,3 guys from Wis otw to daytona in a borrowed truck from one friend,trailer from another,i had already done over a grand worth of work on the truck and 500.00 on the trailer just for this trip,we leave Wis at 12:45 pm on the 26th,we are making good time,according to tom tom will be there at 11 AM Fri morning,then the **** hits the fanat 2:15 am.i sleeping in the rear seat when I'm workup by this horrible sound from the motor,no oil pressure,its 2am and we are just s of Dalton GA,75.00 tow and we are t the ford dealer,all the coolant is in the oil,place opens at 7am shop Foreman says he will get me right in,the weather sucks,rain and cold.at 10:30 i finally see the truck get moved into the shop,around noon they tell me 1100l to fix the leaking oil cooler but need to go to Chattanooga to get part,lucky in the am we rented a car just to kill time,finally get back with the part and he gets it put on,now its 4:30fri afternoon,startsputting coolant in and it starts running out the oil pan,****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,NOW WHAT,he starts pulling frt of motor apart and he tells me motor has to come out,also when he cranked it over i could tell there was no compression on 1 cyl,call owner of truck who says stop ,i will tow it back to Wis,now there is 3 bikes,3 guys and a trailer in Dalton GA with nowhere to go,called Enterprise none of there trucks are setup to tow,urob aka uhaul wants 500.00to daytona and 700.00 back to Dalton,now everything is closing,the dealer has a used f350 for 18k,his other dealership has a crew cab 4x4 05 diesel for 17.5k,i fill out the loan ap and tell him to get the crew cab over here,now they cant find the keys and its 6pm,we will have keys sat am,I'm approved for the loan,sitting here at 5 am sat waiting for them to open up and i can buy this truck

20k for the truck,tow other truck back to wis 1k+ and as of right now im still stuck in dalton

 

Dayum what a CLUSTER F@@@! Next time rent a u-haul and put the bikes in the back along with a mattress and go! It would have been a whole lot cheaper.

 

or maybe just ride the bikes and pick up the traier on the way back uhaul one way back home with the trailer sounds the cheapest or rewrite you thread as truck and trailer stolen............. had to call insurance company hey just trying to help

 

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing - why not ride to Daytona from Dalton?
