what is it about the 1% threads that get people soo pissed off, the helmet, union, and pipe threads I can sort of understand but the 1% threads? Just don't get it, probably never will.

 

1%er threads and Cop threads have one thing in common:


They BOTH bring out all of the folks that believe the absolute worst about both groups.

Couple more observations:

A difference between cop & 1%er threads seems to be some LEOs take offense to some of the stuff, while 1%ers couldn't possibly care less what the keyboard commandos have to say.

And the commandos who spout off the loudest seldom have anything to say in a face-to-face with either the cops or the 1%ers.

 

Bad ride El Pesado

 

When they were here in 2000, there was more trouble with the locals and all the hippies that were also having a convention nearby. They did spend a lot of money while in town and businesses said they were no problem and would welcome them back anytime. They pretty much kept to themselves and one of them was quoted as saying "You people are the crazy ones." They rented a local shut down ski area about 10 miles out of town for the duration of the meet. There was plenty of extra law enforcement brought in, expecting the worst and nothing happened. The LEO's were everywhere, looking out for trouble, you were almost afraid to spit on the sidewalk, 'cause they wanted to arrest somebody for something, but didn't have the chance. I think the whole thing was blown way out of proportion myself. Maybe this time will be different, but I don't think so. JMHO, YMMV, etc.

My question:

Why the hell would they want to go to Missoula? For the scenery? No. For the instant access to wide-open country rides--not really. For the great bar scene? It's better for college students and the indie film crowd. For the fishing? Better elsewhere in the state, much. To relive history? hmm.....

Plenty of better places on or near the I-90 corridor.

Why Missoula?

Maybe we should just look the other way when we see child molesters or people who prey on the young or elderly? Just because a dirtbag rides a Harley doesn't make him cool in my book. If they were to change their ways, I'd give them all the respect they deserve. Key word: deserve.

 

When you see 1%ers around and they happen to make eye contact w/you do you nod your head kindly or do you walk over to them and tell them your true feelings? If you nod your head or simply look away you are respecting them,as you are not showing disrespect.

 

I love the way all the self-righteous a$$holes come out to play to bad mouth 1% clubs whenever they get a chance, yet they prolly tuck their tails between their legs and run away when in the presence , or even worse talk all this garbage then act cool in the face of the ones they secretly despise.. ive been treated unfair and pushed around by the police and had my personal freedom and rights violated as where any incounter with a club i was given even more respect and kindness the more i showed towards them.

you get what you give with them whatever you are or arent, unfortunatley the cops jus take what they want when they dont like what you are period.
