You need the Pro Race Tuner or the lower level HD Tuner ... or an aftermarket tuner to tune the bike. If you buy one of the HD tuners - this is the cable and software you would need to tune it yourself. If you have the dealer tune the bike they will have the cable and software.
For reference. The HD Pro Race Tuner is ~$360 online ($450+ at a dealer). If you pay a dealer to tune the bike the one near me charges $320 after tax. If you tune it yourself you can endlessly tinker with it. The HD tuners also record 0-60 and 1/4 mile data if you're interested in that.

If you don't mind me asking for your opinion, I ran into a shop employee the other day from a local dealer. He said they would add the screaming eagle air kit and remap the bike for $380, parts and labor. Does this sound like a good deal and maybe what I should do? Is there anything that would be a negative from this choice? I do not intend on adding any more performance to the bike at least for a long time.

Hey - without this turning into a "Tuning Thread" there are a lot of opinions about this floating around the web. Without a tuner they will put a very low level "retune" on your bike which from dong research on here people have said is a waste of money. I personally don't know. I know my bike ran very strong and smooth with the Pro Tuner set up by the guys at the shop on a dyno. From what I understand if you have them remap it without a tuner they can only tune it within the legal limits for the Air/Fuel ratio which most people seem to think is to lean. With most tuners you can do whatever you like to the bike - it doesn't matter if its to rich (I believe EPA regulations limit what the emissions can be for a stock bike and without a tuner they have to stay in those limits).
My reccomendation is to do some interent searches about the topic, and then make th ebest educated decision you can. I found it to be very frustrating trying to figure out what was what - in the end I chose the Screaming Eagle Pro Tuner and was very happy with it. Sorry I don't have a better answer!
