Any machinists here? Questions.
I've got 3 sets of Fowler radius gages that I've had laying around for a while and figured I'd get rid of them. My father is a machinist but about to retire, so he's not interested in them and his company has gotten rid of their tooling department pretty much. Apparently that's where these are mainly used? I did some research on these by kit number, and holy crap, I didn't realize how expensive these are apparently? The small kit, 52-470-040 is over $300, the medium sized kit, 52-470-045 is like $900, and the large kit, 52-470-050 is $1300? Those prices seems absolutely ridiculous to me, that's why I'm posting here to see someone familiar with them could give me a market price.

Obviously this isn't the classifieds, but we don't really have a general or tool section there, so if a mod has an issue with this being here, I apologize.

With most all "modern" shops using CNC, the old layout and check methods have been relegated to the hobbyists. With that said they are still useful for reverse engineering!
One of the -040 kits sold on ebay for $24.50 + 10 shipping.
Not many people know what to do with these gages anymore!
