thinking about moving to Denver

Awesome, perfect riding weather: May to Sept.
Cooler temps and thicker clothing can extend the season: Mar/Apr to Nov/Dec. Just depends on the year. Last year I rode at least once every month of the year. Winters aren't bad on the front range but we do get wind, cold and snow. Usually doesn't stick around though. Night time temps will always be cold in the dead of winter. We definitely have a better riding season here than in PHX metro...lived in Gilbert for 12 years too. Was glad to get out of there.
Can't help w/ your job market; lots of jobs here though. Housing market is coming on strong here too.

I've ridden my bike at least once every month since I've had it- 3 yrs. 1st year was able to ride regularly up til X-Mas. As long as there is no snow on the street and sunshine over 40* I'll ride comfortably. Traffic can be a pain at certain times of day in certain areas but mostly bearable. Job market is pretty good for qualified people, if you have skills, you can pretty much find a job. We do get snow and the bike will put away for a couple weeks at a time, that is mod time. And we do get hot here as well, been breaking records this week. Getting to the time of year when you'll be bundled up in the morning on the way to work and in a t-shirt on the way home. Can be pretty crazy at times. We've had 70* at noon and a foot of snow that night. Housing market is pretty much recovered in the mid-ranges, say $200,000/$300,000 range. Have had homes sell in my neighborhood for more than asking price.
Good luck!

I live in FL but I keep my Limited in CO at the g/f's. We're in the foothills...the weather is generally awesome for 8 months, but always changeable in the mountains. You always have to have a couple layers of stuff with ya. We stay up the hill as much as possible, it gets hot down in Denver, plus the traffic. Winter is generally mild and when there's snow it usually doesn't hang around for long. I'd say on any given winter day it could just as easily be 7 as 70. Again...changeable. The riding is freaking awesome just about anywhere west of Denver. Pick any road, you almost can't go wrong. I fly 2000 miles each way every month to hit it. (The g/f thinks it's all about hittin' that booty, little does she know it's prob more like 50/50 booty/bike. After all...you can find booty anywhere! lol)
+1 on Air Methods. I believe that they operate more LifeFlight birds than anyone else in the country, 400+ I think. They have a maint/mod center outside Denver. They also will engineer, build, and install a package for just about any mission in your bird. Last I saw their AVG salary wasn't spectacular, but I'm guessing that they employ a lot of unlicensed folks, like most mod/maint/manufacturing outfits. I'd imagine that they have some decent flight line jobs for A&Ps. I know that they have crew chief gigs all over the country to support LifeFlight contracts. I haven't heard how they are to work for.
