2007 Kansas Rallies
Several small gatherings occur in the State of Kansas.
1. Cassody Breakfast Run
First Sunday of every month, originally April through October, but extended to include March and November provided weather is good. Generally people start arriving 6:30-7:00 a.m. and starting to leave about 11:30-12:00. This is a "small" gathering, generally 500-1000 bikes, more in warmer months, with vendors. Free to attend.
2. Thunder on the Smoky Motorcycle Rally
May 19, 2007 in Marquette Kansas. It is another "small" gathering, generally about 1000-1500 bikes, with vendors, food, alcohol, bike show, poker run, Motorcycle Museum, and circle track races, among other things. Bike show entry fee is $10.00. Poker run hands are $15.00 each or 3 for $25.00. Free to attend.
3. Kansas HOG Rally
May 31 - Jun 2, 2007 Junction City Kansas. Standard state HOG Rally. I've never been, yet, need to review the website.
4. Tornado Rally CANCELED
June 9 and 10, 2007 in Wichita Kansas. A larger gathering in the heart of Wichita, surrounding Big Dog Motorcycles. Attendance reported to be 15,000 in '05 and 30,000 in '06. Includes vendors, food, alcohol, bike show. Last year had Eddie Money, bikini show, monster truck show, trial motorcycle demonstration, and several Custom Motorcycle builders, among other things. Free to attend.
5. Crossroads of America Bike Rally
July 13-15, 2007 Hutchinson Kansas 1st annual event, based on the concept that this may be the center point of several LARGE rallies (Sturgis, Laconia, Daytona, Austin, Laughlin) Events scheduled include bike show, poker run, concert, bike stunts, Custom Builders, and the Pufffect Anglez Dance Team. Since this is the first, there is no reference to last year's attendance. Attendance costs $15.00 per day or $30 for all three. RV spot $75 (all services) Bike show entry $5/bike
If anyone would like to meet or hang out/plan something, let me know and/or post in this thread. I have been to the first, second, and forth, and will attend this year as well. Cassody is a hit and miss unless something is planned.
