From what I witnessed the accident was simply due to following too closely and not paying attention. Traffic started to slow near the Park City exit, a man ran into the back of another couple waiting to get off the interstate. Life flight, ambulances, fire trucks were all there. The interstate was closed for close to an hour and a half.

My prayers go out to those involved with this tragedy.

Oh boy...that is sad. I hope everyone makes it through ok and hopefully the bikes took the brunt of the damage...I know that's probably not true.

My husband won't allow me to ride in group rides bigger than 10 people...he says the risk of accidents increase with more people. Accidents happen with just one or two people I couldn't imagine an entire group.

Keep me updated, I really do hope everyone is going to be alright.

This was on the news last night. They said one guy hit another bike with a passenger. All three suffered non-threatening injuries. It's lucky. Any accident with a bike usually ends a lot worse off for the riders.

Between this ride and the Polar Bear ride, it's not looking very good for large rides in Utah. Wonder if they'll start requiring helmets? I'm not sure how many of these organized runs I'll be going on in the future. Prayers and well wishes to the families.

I heard about this on the news last night also. My thoughts and prayers go to those involved. I wasn't on the ride but thought about going. I am starting to get Leary of large group rides.

Glad I'm not the only one against group rides...I have always wanted to do one but I get so nervous and worried....

We went to a stripper bike wash last year in Ogden and we rode up with 5 or 6 of us and I was sssoooo freakin happy my husband and I stayed far behind the speed demons.
