Default Possible Ride Through Utah Parks

Since the spring weather here is so warm, dry and very conducive to riding (sarcasm alert!!!) I thought I would start drawing up some maps for a possible ride this summer. My thoughts are to head south into Utah and ride through Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion National parks and then head down to the Grand Canyon. From there, I may dip way south into Tucson to hang out a couple days with my brother and work my way back up. The return trip would include Petrified Forest, Mesa Verde in Colorado (My girlfriend also has relatives near there that like to ride), and then head up through Moab and hit Canyonlands and Arches. I would then wind my way around some alternate routes and end up back in Missoula.

This trip is in the early phases right now, so the route is not definite. Heck, me being able to go is not definite at this point, but I would like to make it happen. Anyways, I was wondering if anybody in any of these areas had any ride feedback, route ideas, or must see/stay/eat at places that I can't miss. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Google Maps - Missoula, MT to Tucson, AZ and Back

If you head straight down I-15 it might be a little boring until you get into southern Utah. I'm sure there are a few riders here that know this place better than me since I'm a transplant. If you sidetrack through Bryce & Zion and into Az by way of Page, you'll have a lot of nice scenery!!! I'd head through the Grand Canyon, then through Sedona.

There is the Thunder on The Mountain ride, mid July at Brianhead great way to spend a couple of days.

Zion will be under construction from Sprinville to Carmel Jct. So no fun.

Kanab to Jacobs Lake/ North Rim is a good ride.

So many great rides, so little time.

How long is the Carmel to Springdale construction supposed to last? I was thinking of heading down that way mid to late June. I am assuming it won't be complete by then...

I think the construction will just be getting a good start by mid June. They are not doing anything through the tunnel and I don't know about the potential delays. Go to www.safetravelsusa.com and they should have a current up to date report on the construction.
