Thinking about a trip the last week of September 2010. It's the only available vacation time for the year. We will be coming out of Ohio.
Could I get some feedback on what the weather should be like.
Would like to check out the whole west and north west part of the state.

Pretty brave dude. I've gotten snowed on in early september by Glacier Park. 70* days 30* nights (mountain temps sorry all I know)

 

I've been snowed in in West Yellowstone on June 1st. You can never tell what weather you will get in Montana. Seriously, over 2 feet of snow in 24 hours.

 

Man there ain't no way but I'd like to make that trip also

 

I live in Montana and have seen it snow in every month of the year! In late September you can almost plan on getting snowed on in the northwestern part of the state and have temps in the 30s or even 20s at night. Early Sept is better but the temps will still drop when the sun goes down, and you do NOT want to ride much at dusk till daylight 'cause elk, moose and mule deer are awful rough on a scooter when ya hit one (not to mention a rider and/or passenger)!

 

Thanks for the responses. We are going to go South West instead. When my buddy can get time off in the summer that's when we will go to Montana.
