Default pagosa springs

I'm planing a trip to pagosa springs for a weak after the 4th of july and was wondering about any sights to see there. And does any one know if it is legal to split lanes there? Thanks.

Lane splitting is not legal in Colorado, and the state as a whole is mostly rural. Can't think of a reason in the world you would want to lane split.

Not much to see there, to be perfectly honest. It has a nice hot springs to soak your sore buttt. Watch out for the feed store down town.

The ride up and over Wolfe Creek Pass way up on the Great Divideis pretty spectacular. It's like a whole bunch of Z's and W's all strung together. Stop often and look around.

There is a nice little camp ground just to the east of town on the north side of the road. Tent sites right on the pond, clean showers, close to town.

Durango is more of a tourist town. Better restaurants. Take the train ride if you have time. Since you're coming from the west, you'll go through there first.

Cortez is a lot like Pagosa Springs, with even less to do. But it's worth spending a few hours at the cliff dwellings.

if it were me, I'd take US 550 through Durango to Ouray. I've been on it several times in a cage.... can't imagine how fine it must be to ride.

There are a couple of day rides you can do out of Pagosa:

1. South to Chromo - Chama, NM - over Cumbres & La Manga Passes to Antonito, CO - Alamosa - South Fork - Wolf Creek Pass - Pagosa....probably take you 10 hours with stops and lunch.

2. Pagosa - Vallecito Reservoir - Lemon Lake - Durango - Pagosa....5 hours with a stop in Durango.

Last summer our Green Chili II group did the Durango - Mancos - Dolores -Lizard Head - Telluride - Ouray - Durango - Pagosa....a long day but absolutelythe best road in Colorado...ya' got to try real hard to talk the OL into this ride! Take my word for it.
