Ok so I've been told I'm a pusssie for going to a GoldWing. Please no more bashing, got enough from my buddies. I have a Black2004 FHLTI RK with 15k miles this is a Arizona bike.It has almost everytasteful[IMHO]HD add-on there is. From inner chrome primary housing to slotted mirror brackets. I have included some pictures that don't show everything, like the V&H 2in1 pro pipe and the PC111. The list is long $$$$. I also have the stock exhaust system with SE slip ons. I may make enemies here, but the father-in-law owns a goldwing. I have not driven it, but the wife rode on the back. I have a rk custom and she says the goldwing is like riding a couch. She loves it. And Honda makes a good product. You aren't a puss. Anything on two wheels shows *****. Not all people can ride a bike. Esp any distance. I applaud you for being man enough to know what you want. BUT, I will say that when the two bikes are parked together (we ride a lot together), he seems a lil embarassed when he tells folks his is the Honda. But I don't care. Ride on, and ride safe!

 

My next bagger is gonna be a "wing".

Sad to say.....but unless HD comes out with something that sways my mind, my next will prolly be a wing also. Will have the stereo loaded with soundbytes of HD exhaust tho!

p,s, my buddys 01' 1800 has over 200.000 miles, nary a problem, cept lost his alternator once,
yes, i love my wing, but still want a ultra classic, also. then i'll have the best of both !! ..

Speaking of wings....I was on a GL1800 forum, that has an entire SECTION of the forum dedicated to HD bashing. Here, there might be some brand bashing, and most of it (I think) is tongue in cheek.

But to dedicate an entire SECTION? sheesh

 

I pick up my first Harley this Sunday... after riding bikes for 25 years or so, I'm finally getting 'the real deal'. A 1996 Sportster. It's what i could afford.

But, let me tell you, I have owned an 83 Goldwing for about 8 years or so total... and my wife says I can ride the Harley all I want, but she (and my 12 year old daughter too) will only want to ride the Wing...

That's ok with me. Both have their purpose... I have ridden smooth... Now I want to see what all the fuss has been about for the last 103 years or so...
