We bought this 06 Fatboy directly from the local dealer, then later consigned it to our businessand customized it to showcase our work...a small but growing shop in Lansing MI that specializes in in-house installations of 300mm wide tire conversions for stock H-D softails. As it has already been elegantly said on the this website, you just can't get what your bike is worth in this market...especially in Michigan!!! This Fatboy has all of about 10 miles on it, features a 300mm wide tire conversion with Renegade chrome wheels, GMA chrome in-board brake pulley, our own design swingarm with fiber optic turn signals built into the ends (brighter than the OEMs), chrome license plate/brake light assembly, chrome exterior struts on a 13" Russ Wernimont fender, 6-speed right side drive transmission in a stock H-D case (comes with a 5-year, 50,000 mile warranty), Big Bear Choppers exhaust with heat wrap, custom seat with suction-cup pillion pad, beautiful PPG chamelion three-tone paint job in Ruby Slipper Red (changes from brilliant metallic red to root beer to green in the light!), tons of Kuryakyn chrome accessories. We have a great reputationfor workmanship and customer service...everything on this bike, as with all our customer's bikes, fits so well that it looks like it came from the factory. Selling for $26,000 (retails for $32,000 and we are selling at a loss) and will consider a trade-in for part of the payment. Has a clean Harley Davidson title, easy to insure and finance. All the changes are considered "bolt-on" for insurance purposes...frame is intact with VIN numbers. The motor has not been touched and is still under factory warranty.
We do have a used dealers license just to be able to resell the bikes we purchase once in a while to showcase something, and take trade-ins, but our main biz is customizing customer's Harleys, not selling bikes, which is why I am posting here. We really need to sell this bike and two others that we have in the shop (06 Night Train and 03 Heritage Softail) so we can get some other shop projects going.
