Default 2011 FXDC with harley 103 kit plus other extras has to go

My dad just picked up a vivid black 2011 FXDC. He put it in my garage on Thursday March 3rd. He hasnt ridden a bike since he was 20 years old. 43 years later he decided to get a bike so he can ride with me. Today he came to my house to see my kids with my mom. We told her about the bike. She went ape ****. He is being forced to sell the bike. I think it has 2 miles on it. He paid $19,098.00 for the bike. And they included the first 3 services free. I know he wont get that money for the bike. But he is asking $17,000 or best offer. If you want to see pics pm me and I will email you pics. The bike is in Bellmore NY (Long Island). I posted all the up grades in this link https://www.hdforums.com/forum/motor...arley-kit.html

Sad to hear that. Maybe he should take his time selling the bike, and Mom might get comfortable with the idea of him having it. At least he'll get to go on one ride with you.

Sorry man, but your dad needs to divorce your mom, she has some nerve telling the old man what to do after all these years. Hell he earned it, tell him to man up and dump her not the bike, let him live out the rest of his life happy.

I'd jack the price back up to what he has in it so it won't sell. He can blame it not selling on the economy and get some riding in. Maybe she will soften after she sees how happy riding with you makes him. Pretty sad situation.

I would just keep the bike, yeah maybe he should have said something before he bought it, but then again he's a big boy and can obviously afford it, he's earned it! She'll either get over it or move on. Just my divorced opinion!

We work together, shoot together, ski together, and I was hoping we could ride together. Im 36 and have been riding since I was 18 (kept my first bike hidden from them for 2 years). None of his friends shoot so he shoots with me. 1 or 2 of his friends and 1 of my friends really ski so we ski together. And the only friends I have that ride are the guys in my bike club and they are all my dads age pretty much LOL. None of his friends will ever ride. So I wanted us to ride together also. I have a 2010 Street Glide thats in the shop getting a stage iv 103 kits, yaffe bars and tank, jm speaker and jm amp, wimmer air cleaner, kenwood radio, sirius radio inside the batwing and a few other odds and ends. So I love the fact that he bought a harley. Its another thing we can do together. I would have loved for him to ask my opinion on modding his bike. The old man is my best friend.

He really should sack up and tell his wife that he is keeping the bike. I do understand that some people feel very strongly about motorcycles though, and most men are pretty attached to their wives. Damn shame she is being a hard *** about it, tell him to jack the price way up and ride

Is your mother upset over your father wanting to ride? or because he spent $19,000 of their money on the bike? In most states, whether the money is earned by dad or mom, or whether it's in a joint or non-joint bank account, it belongs to BOTH of them. If she is pissed off because of him spending $19,000 without asking her, I can understand that. If she is pissed off because he wants to ride, she needs to get over it.

WOW I did that trick but with a 250 enduro. I would want to face my wife if I did it with 19k.
