Default 2006 Softail Deluxe

I am listing this for a very good friend of mine. He has put a lot of time, thought and money into making this a very nice custom bike. All work was done by the dealership. Les (the owner of the bike) knows and understands his own mechanical skills and abilities and sought out what he considered the best "wrench" (Lane Dyke) at Elk Grove HD to help him with this. When Elk Grove closed shop, Lane moved on and is currently working in Colorado for an authorized HD dealership.

He is not selling this bike because he wants to, it is because he has to. He has spent the last several years putting together what he believed would be the last bike he would ever own. But nobody said life was fair…enough said.

He purchased the bike new from Harley Davidson of Elk Grove, CA on 04/18/2006 for a cash price of $20,913.00. (Current KBB is $14,500…and "yes" I understand that KBB is a "guide" to pricing.)

As soon as the ink dried on the paper, he picked up the accessory catalog and started planning what changes he would be making. What follows is a short and long list of what has been done. Wherever he could, only HD parts and accessories were used. He has receipts for all the parts/accessories purchased and all work done. There are no parts that he took off included or available for sale.

The bike has been serviced at the required intervals according to MoCo guidelines. He is using Amsoil 20-50 in all holes. The bike has never been dropped, down or otherwise damaged in any way. It has never seen anything but California (and a wee bit of Arizona) sunshine. It has always been garaged, meticulously maintained and when not being ridden, it has been on a trickle charger.

The paint is the stock factory color…two tone Glacier White Pearl and Deep Cobalt.

The title for the bike is in his name and in his possession.

The bike has just about 17,950 miles on it.

The asking price it $31,200. Yes, it is not cheap but if you price out the parts listed (none of this includes all the little parts that all add up and are necessary to make it happen), add labor (take a look at the short list and then go to the long list) and you will see that it is a reasonable request. (And "yes", I have looked at/ added up receipts, and it is far above his asking price!) There is room for negotiation and counter-offers, but please, no ridiculous and insulting "low-ball" offers.

When he had the motor upgraded in 2007, he purchased an extended warranty that will expire in 2013. The cost was an additional $1,400.00. If you choose, you may purchase this transferable warranty for $400.00. This price is "non-negotiable" and is exclusive of and in addition to the agreed upon sales price of the bike.

The "short" list of what has been done/added/changed/upgraded:

• Big Bore Screaming Eagle heads, 1550 conversion kit, S&S 570G cams w/ 4 gear-to-gear cam chest and race tuner, Diamond Cut heads and cylinders, flat top pistons, compression release in heads, quick-install pushrods, Big Shot staggered exhaust;
• Upgraded wheels, completely chromed front end;
• Chrome brake related components;
• Stainless braided lines;
• Chrome shift linkage and primary related components;
• Handlebars changed out and chromed components added (switches, clamps and levers);
• Transmission is stock, five-gear (was on the next "to-do" list);
• The bike is fuel injected;
• The bike was dyno-tuned as performance upgrades were made and the HD S/E race tuner is included in the sale of the bike;
• 24T comp sprocket/37T clutch basket;
• Speedo/tach combo kit;
• Passing lamp kit and housing;
• Whenever, wherever possible chrome fasteners were used along with chrome nuts, washers;

Please Note: I have tried to be as careful and accurate as possible in describing this bike. If you notice a glaring discrepancy, notify me and I will gladly post an addendum with your information.

If you have any questions, you may contact Les (the owner) at (916) 496-0407 or through his email: thres4@yahoo.com. If you wish to view the bike or have someone look at the bike in your stead, arrangements can be made for that as well.

Thanks for looking,

Dave
