i talked to the bank about maybe gettin' financed and as soon as they heard the year they just laughed at me...bastages!!

Why dont you go through EagleMark which is Harleys bank. The APR is a touch higher, but hey, thats how I got my 87 FLHTC cause money was tight and I wanted it now!!! FWIW, I just did this late last year...
