Appraisal Request/For Sale - 1996 Cafe Sportster
Hey All, I have a 1996 Cafe Sportster that a friend and I did a custom rebuild on last year. We took a stock XL1200 and rebuilt it into a mono-shock cafe. All of the custom notes are in the PDF I attached detailing everything. Works shock, Ryca header, Yamaha Seca tank we split for oil/gas side by side, FXR calipers, etc etc the list goes on. The front of the frame is stock so frame/motor match making registration/insurance easy. I haven't officially listed for sale yet but I'm getting my feelers out there to see what some of yalls think. What do you all think I'm in the ballpark for on this? I'll offer for sale here first but if no deals I'll list on Ebay in the spring.
Also I have a 2001 Led Sled sportster chopper basket case I listed on here a while back that is still for sale. Make me on offer and that as well if you like. I'm cleaning out the garage for a new sportster build this summer!
Cheers brothers and sisters!
This was our initial sketch, we came close!

Great looking bike....something like that is a nightmare to sell...my advice is to go get a professional appraisal before you even start...
How is it titled? If it is titled as a 96 sportster it is worth $2500 to an insurance co....if it is titled as a special construction ..it is not a Harley, and insurance nightmares become even worse...
Good luck selling in today's crappy used bike market...

Thanks everybody. Technically it is for sale, it's just not listed yet, I wanted to post here first to test the waters. I'm open to offers, if no takers I'm going to post on Ebay in the spring and see what the masses have to say. It runs great but it's not much of a riding bike, mostly for bike shows. Yes it's registered as a 96 XL so reg/insurance will be easy. Thanks again everybody, ride safe.
