Trade engine guards?
I inadvertently bought the wrong moustache engine guard for my Fat Boy, off of a guy on eBay. He had the model no. in his ad, but said it was for all 2000 and newer Fat Boys. I should have double checked the model no. against the HD site, but took the ad at face value. It is actually the one for all 2000 and newer TOURING models! (model no. 49155-05)It is brand new (no mounting hardward however...). I need model no.49140-05, which is the correct one for the Softail models. I'd even be happy with model no. 49037-05, the nostalgicstyle engineguard. Basically one that fits a Fat Boy, as long as it is in good shape. This fellow has offered to get me the right one, but wants to charge me more money. I have a friend who works at a local HD dealership who told me he could swap it out for me, but he's yet to come through. If I can't arrange something fairly soon, I'm going back to the vendor, and pay the extra cash, to get the right one. I'd like to avoid that if I can. I thought perhaps someone might have the right one sitting in their garage that'd fit my Fatty, and could use one for their touring model bike, and we could arrange a straight swap. If anyone is interested, PM me, and we'll work something out. Thanks...
