Axtell cylinders with some history. I have run them twice with unsatisfactory results. After the first 1000 miles, sent them back to Axtell because I thought the motor was excessively noisy; Axtell honed to 4.135" and fitted new pistons which I paid for. I ran them again and, after 800 miles the noise was back. I have sent them back to Axtell and Ron Dickey says the cylinders are fine but the pistons were worn because there was foreign material in the oil. Piston to cylinder clearance opened up and noise started.

The cylinders are at Axtell and any one interested should call Ron and get details from him. He has offered to help anyone interested in buying these cylinders. A buyer would have to purchase a new set of pistons, so the cylinders would likely require another .010" hone; don't know if Axtell would charge for that but I doubt it.
