As I scan the ads for things I might buy, I too, run across things that I think the owner is crazy for asking that much, but please send the man a PM if you have to voice your opinion. Don't ruin the man's ad by posting your opinion for everyone to see.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; **IMHO**

This should be a rule, but then again, it should be common sense. What comes around goes around.
&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I posted a "for sale" ad for a custom part that took 11 man/machine hours on a $350,000.00 machine and got hammered for my asking price, which was almost HALF what I just sold one for to a guy on Craigs List. I stopped the ad and will probably avoid using the classifieds here to sell anything. Darn shame too, I'm fixin' to sell some nice stuff at very very fair prices.

and if they want it free, they can go somewhere else.

i buy stuff at Gov't auction
i throw away more stuff than i sale.&nbsp\\; i have $1200 worth of plumbing stuff i will put in the trash monday, about $2000 worth of laser jet toners.

sent my uncle ~$300 worth of home PVC pipe last week, because it was headed for the trash.

if they want it free, they can dig it out of the dump.
but i don't have to sell it for $5 to make them happy, and then spend a few hours pakcing it all up, and driving it to UPS

just put it in the big green can, and move on to next project.

 

&nbsp\\;Hold the Line I say If you thing it is worth it , them either sell it or don't. It is the seller choice&nbsp\\; ( it is what it is ) Bottom Line .

 

It's the sellers choice what to sell it for. Are these the same people that look at buying a used car, take it for a test drive, have a key made, return the car, and come back late at night to steal it?

If it's in the classifieds it's not free, there's another area for the free stuff, go there. BTW, Terry, thanks for adding that section.

Another peeve is when something sells, great, but go back and post sold in the heading so people will not keep opening the ad...a little courtesy on both ends....
