Default Whos the best?

Gonna be buying my first bike soon and since I have geico auto insurance i figured id get a quote for bike insurance from them, the @$$holes told me $138 a month because I'm 18, does anyone know if other companies would give me a lower rate? I know I'm gonna get a pretty high rate from anyone but I'm hoping for at least a little lower then that.

Get quotes from multiple companies. Pay attention to coverages, medical, and deductibles. Oh, then think about price.

I hate Geico but they have always had the lowest rates when I got multiple quotes. I've never paid over $150.00 a year even on a new bike. Currently I'm paying $99.00 a year for full coverage and towing on my 92 Heritage.

Don`t forget to add uninsured motorist option. It could save you a lot of money.

This....

I'm at about $33 a month, yearly is how I pay it keeps it at $392. That's 2 bikes full year round coverage, low deductable.

My middle boy has an 05 650CC twin and at 25YO, he pays $450 yr, no collision, just liability, fire and theft.

At 20YO on an older 500 Ninja, w/liability only he was paying $800.

He took the course at 19..his agent said next year his premiums will be realistic...he has saved almost the total cost of a V-Rod...atta boy.

For what? Be aware that having minimum coverage can get you a cheap rate but when something happens you could be screwed.

A few weeks back a friend who is 21 y/o had a serious mva with his bike. After going down the helmet helped him avoid serious head injuries but he was thrown right in front of a car traveling on the same road. He lost both legs and is looking at medical bills well into the six figures.

If you don't have medical coverage from some other source, don't think mc insurance is going to cover more than a minor injury.

18 and your first bike is never going to get you low rates.
