Best insurance rates?
Ok, I used the search function and did find some answers to my question. Problem is, those threads are 2 years old!
I would like to know what MC insurance is available out there right now. Who has the best service and who has the best rates?
I have been with Progressive for over 3 years and just got slapped in the face with a $1650 premium for a 2012 FLHTK and 2012 FXDC!
Never had a claim and both our driving records are clean.
Last bike was $550 a year, what gives?

I can very wildly. I had been with Progressive for nearly 15 years, just on the bike, and 3 weeks ago picked up a new 2012 Ultra. Like an idiot, I didn't even think about the insurance cost. I figured it would go up a bit, but, when they quoted me $1100 for it, I nearly freakin' passed out. (I was paying $480 per year on a 10 year old Road King).
I called Geico, and talked to an agent a friend of mine knows. Same coverage, and I max everything, came out to $453 per year. Yes, less than I was paying with Progressive after being with them 15 years, and on a 10 year old bike.

Not sure if that is a good deal or not yet but that was my first quote.

The two best companies I have found so far are Markel, and if you are an old fart like me (over 50) the AARP program from Foremost. Both were significantly cheaper than Progressive, Geico, or HD Insurance if you have a clean claims and violation record.
I had Markel and was happy with them but switched to AARP/Foremost when i got my 12 Ultra. They were about $170 a year cheaper. Make sure you shop around - you will be amazed at the range of rates that are out there for exactly the same coverage.
